We can manufacture custom square rubber seals suitable for a diverse range of sealing and bump protection applications. The simplistic shape of this profile allows this section to be used within most industry sectors. Square profiles can be extruded with a hollow centre when being used as a watertight seal to stop water ingress. However, we can also extrude or cut a range of rubber materials into solid square or rectangular sections.
Extruding square rubber seals with a hollow centre allows for the seal to easily compress and create a watertight seal to reduce the chance of water ingress. These profiles are often captivated in a channel where a knife edge or ball nose goes into the centre of the seal. This edge compresses the profile into itself to create a watertight seal. Square profiles like this are often used as hatch and locker seals on super yachts and other large marine vessels.
We can also cut square and rectangular sections from solid and semi-sold materials, such as Neoprene, Silicone and Natural rubber. These products are often used to fill channels or create a sealing solution on doors, hatches and portlights.

Our Custom Rubber Seal Manufacturing Process
We work with a large range of rubber and plastic compounds including EPDM, Natural rubber, Neoprene, Nitrile, Silicone and PVC, many of which are available in either sponge or solid forms. This selection allows us to extrude a profile taking into account any environmental, chemical or temperature demands.
The manufacturing process starts with our specialist toolmakers who turn your sample or technical dimensioned drawing into a tool which can be used to extrude an exact replica of your rubber seal. This extrusion process uses temperature and pressure to push your chosen rubber compound through the tool to extrude the required shape. The extruded seal is then cured using heat to vulcanise and harden the extrusion.
Although the majority of rubber seals are manufactured using a very similar procedure, we understand that your sealing solution may require additional non-standard processes. This could include joining, applying self-adhesive backing or cutting to desired lengths. Whilst it is possible to do this on-site after production, it is often preferable to do this at the time of manufacture to increase the speed and ease of installation of the final product.
Manufacturing a custom rubber seal can be completed at a relatively low cost with production runs requiring as little as 30 metres. For large production quantities, we have the option of manufacturing sample lengths before going to bulk production. This allows you to look at the finished product and test how it performs. The process of moving from concept to delivery can normally be fulfilled within two to three weeks, depending on the material and complexity of the profile.

Standard Square Rubber Seals
With over 700 stocked products, our off-the-shelf square rubber seals are available in a range of materials and sizes. We stock a small range of sponge square sections for sealing applications, as well as a selection of solid rubber square profiles. These products are normally immediately available and can be dispatched the same day on a next working day courier.
Expanded Neoprene (Skinned on 4 Sides)
Skinned Expanded Neoprene has a smooth skin on all 4 sides. It is
manufactured from a closed-cell sponge material which does not absorb water so
can be used for making watertight seals on hatches, lockers, doors and
cabinets. This product is available in a range of square and rectangular
shapes.
Sponge Automotive Seals
Our sponge automotive seals are suitable for various applications, such
as making watertight seals to stop water ingress. Although they are primarily
used for automotive applications, their unique shapes allow them to be used for
other sealing projects.
Expanded Silicone Strip (Skinned on 4 Sides)
Expanded Silicone strip has a smooth skin on all 4 sides. It is
manufactured from a white closed-cell sponge which does not absorb water. These
profiles can be used to create watertight seals on cabinets, enclosures and
hatches.
Porthole Rubber Strip
Porthole rubber strip is manufactured from a semi-soft Natural rubber
and is commonly used for sealing brass and bronze port lights and vents. These
sections are available in a selection of square and rectangular shapes.
