This awning rail insert is fitted into the centre of your Aluminium awning rail. It is a protective aesthetic trim used to cover the screw heads and fixings that hold the rail onto the outside of your caravan or motorhome. This insert is 12.3mm wide by 3.6mm. It is supplied in silver but is also available in a range of other sizes and colours.
Fitting this insert into your awning rail is a relatively simple process. We recommend placing the trim in a bucket of warm water to soften the material. This will make it easier to work with. Starting at one end, squeeze and pinch the seal into the channel working your way along the entire length of the rail. As this insert can be unintentionally stretched during the fitting process, we recommend that you leave a couple of inches hanging out of the end of the channel. This would allow you to trim off any excess once the section has shrunk back to its original length.
