This sponge section is 24mm by 33mm and supplied by the linear metre. It is designed to be used on the Jaguar XJ6 Series 2 2 Door Coupe (BD44122) but is suitable for other automotive or industrial applications. This section has a smooth outside skin so can provide a neat sealing solution for situations where the product will be visible.
It can be bonded onto most clean flat surfaces such as metal, wood and plastic. We recommend using a good quality contact adhesive such as S136 or A262 (available from our website).
This product is a co-extrusion comprising of a solid EPDM foot and compressible expanded EPDM sponge top. When compressed to approximately 30%, this section will create a good long-term watertight seal without risk of compression set. This material has a good modular resistance to most substances including most chemicals, UV, air and ozone but is not recommended in environments which may come into contact with oil or fuel. EPDM has an operating temperature range between -40°C to +120°C.
This item is manufactured in 40 metre coils. For example, an order for 50 metres would be supplied as 40 metres and 10 metres.
