This small rubber P seal has a 6mm diameter bulb with a 9mm tail. The wall thickness is 2mm. P sections can be used on hatches, doors, flood gates and piping between panels on cars. The hollow bulb allows for the seal to compress providing a good long-term watertight sealing solution for most applications within the marine, automotive or industrial industries.
The flange/tail length can be extended by bonding solid neoprene strip onto it using a good quality contact adhesive such as our A139 or A262 (available from our website). This profile can also be bonded onto most clean flat surfaces such as plastic, wood and metal.
We manufacture this product from high quality EPDM which is a rubber compound suitable for a wide range of every day and industrial applications. This material has a good modular resistance to most substances including most chemicals, UV, air and ozone but is not recommended in environments which may come into contact with oil or fuel. EPDM is around the same hardness (70° Shore A) as the rubber on a car tyre and has an operating temperature range between -40°C to +120°C.
