Window Rubbers (Claytonrite)
Over time the seals holding the Perspex or glass into your boat, car, van or caravan shrink, perish and become less effective so need to be replaced to prevent damage to your vehicle. These seals are sold in a range of different sizes depending on the thickness of the glass and thickness of the panel.
Selecting the correct size is essential to ensuring a long lasting sealing solution. ‘Gap A’ and ‘Gap B’ relate to the glass and panel thickness. These glazing rubbers will seal approximately -1mm. For example, you can fit a 4mm-5mm thick glass into a 5mm gap. The glass and panel gaps are interchangeable. The ‘Web’ relates to the thickness of the solid piece of rubber between gap A and gap B. This stipulates how much smaller your glass should be in relation to the size of the hole / aperture.
You will need a filler strip (sold separately) to hold the glazing rubber in place and apply compression onto the glass and panel. These are available in either black, chrome or white. You should also bed the rubber in with a silicone sealant.
