Plastic Reinforced Rubber Edge Trims
Plastic reinforced rubber edge trims are flexible sections that hold themselves onto an edge without the need for adhesive, screws or other fixings. They are commonly used within most industry sectors to create a watertight seal on doors, hatches, lockers, enclosures and cabinets. Unlike metal reinforced self-gripping trims, the plastic spine is non-conductive and non-rusting. This is advantageous in applications where the section may be subjected to electrical currents or water. They are also slightly lighter than similar sized metal reinforced trims.
We recommend compressing the sponge sealing bulb on either
the top or side of the section by approximately 30% to reduce the chance of
damaging the sponge rubber with excessive and prolonged compression. To
identify the correct replacement product you will need to measure the thickness
of the panel that the seal will be fitted to, and make an assessment of the
sealing bulb size you require.
