This cover strip fitting tool is designed to simplify the process of fitting the cover strip into caravan and motorhome double glazed opening window rubbers. It allows you to insert the cover strip quickly and easily into the rubber without damaging the seal by using sharp tools, such as screw driver or scrappers.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need to use a lubricant, such as diluted washing up liquid or silicone spray to allow the tool to glide smoothly around the channel and reduce drag.
Hello, this is an instruction video showing how to use the caravan and motorhome window rubber cover strip fitting tool, CST5015, available from Seals Direct. This tool simplifies the process of fitting the cover strip into the window rubber.
Start by lubricating the window rubber to allow the tool to slide in the channel. To do this, get some silicone spray and spray it all the way around the rubber to lubricate it. Without lubrication the tool may drag and won’t work properly.
Next, insert the tool into the window rubber by lifting up the ears in the central of the rubber and push the tool into the slot.
Get the cover strip, available in grey, white or black, and push it through the central hole in the tool. Push it back a few inches making sure that it is secured in the ears in the central of the rubber seal. Hold the cover strip in position and move the tool all the way around the seal so that it feeds the cover strip into the window rubber.
When you get to the join, slightly lift up the head of the tool to go over the strip. Continue for a few inches overlapping where you started. Take out the tool.
