T Shaped Rubber Seals
T shaped rubber seals are cross-sectional profiles that feature a horizontal top section with a vertical stem. The top section provides a broad contact area that ensures a secure and effective seal, whilst the vertical stem adds stability. T sections are often used to cover gaps between panels but can also be used to form a seal between two surfaces in the same plane. They are also commonly used within the fabrication industry on doors, windows and other access points to create a sealing barrier against environmental elements, such as moisture, dust and noise.
It is possible to bond solid neoprene strip onto the vertical flange to make it longer or thicker. We recommend using a good-quality contact adhesive, such as A139 or A262.
We manufacture most of our T shaped seals from EPDM which demonstrates excellent resistance to water, chemicals and the effects of weathering. This allows you to use these profiles in indoor and outdoor environments with confidence that they will provide a long-lasting waterproof seal.
