Rubber Edge Trims with Lip Seal
Rubber edge trims with lip seals hold themselves onto the edge of a panel without the need for adhesive, screws or other mechanical fixings. They are manufactured with a metal-reinforced spine that helps reinforce the section and protects the underlying surface from knocks and impact. Although the self-gripping spine strengthens the trim, it is flexible and can be bent around gradual corners.
These products feature either a horizontal or vertical lip that is manufactured onto the top or side of the self-gripping trim. Unlike other sealing products, the purpose of the lip is to defect water and debris rather than compress and create a watertight seal. Depending on the position of the lip, it can be bent down, up, forward or backward.
When identifying a replacement product, you will need to measure the thickness of the panel to ensure that you choose a section that tightly grips onto the edge of the panel. Lip seals are available in a selection of sizes, depending on this panel thickness and the required position of the sealing lip.
