Timber Angled Flipper Seals
Over time the seals around your windows and doors compress, perish and become less effective so need to be replaced. Replacing your seals is essential for preventing damage to your home, saving you money and keeping you warm and comfortable. Angled flipper seals, also known as R series weatherseals, are designed to be used as replacement seals in timber frames on windows and doors. They are ideal for timber casement windows and can also be used on the top or bottom of sash windows.
Designed for easily insertion, these products fit directly into the timber frame and create an air and watertight seal when the window or door is closed. The flipper allows for lower closing forces compared to bubble seals.
Easy insertion angled flipper seals are available in a range of colours and sizes, depending on the size of your frame and gap you need to seal.

What size angled flipper seal should I use to seal my window or door?
Our easy insertion angled flipper weatherseals are available in two different sizes, 10mm and 12mm. This measurement refers to the height of the seal and allows you to purchase a section that will sit flush with the top edge of the frame. To identify the best replacement section, you will need to measure the height of the frame from the top of the groove.
These products are designed to be fitted into a groove in your window or door frame. This groove will need to be 2.7mm wide by 6.5mm deep. All of these sections seal a gap between 2.5mm and 5.5mm.
How do you fit an angled flipper seal?
Timber angled flipper seals are designed to be pushed into the groove around the frame on your window or door. You need to ensure that this groove is clean, dry and free from dirt or debris before inserting the seal. Cut the seal to the required length and gently push it into the groove all the way around the frame ensuring that the V of the flipper faces away from the external edge of the window or door.
It is important to make sure that the seal does not sit proud or too low within the groove as incorrectly positioned seals can create an area for water to sit. Once the seal is correctly positioned, use a staple gun to secure it through the base to the edge of the frame.
