Rubber & PVC Cord
Rubber and PVC cord, also known as plugging cord, is commonly used within the marine industry for plugging drill holes in rubber and PVC D fenders. Once you have fitted the fender onto the side of your boat, it is essential to plug these drill holes to ensure that the section is watertight. You can achieve this inserting a piece of cord into the drill hole and securing in place with a good quality adhesive, such as Polyurethane.
These products are available in a range of materials, such as Neoprene, Nitrile, EPDM and PVC, in a selection of diameters between 3mm and 19mm. We recommend that you choose a product that is the same size as the hole you need to fill.
As these sections are manufactured from flexible rubber compounds, they are suitable for a range of applications outside of the marine industry. This includes making watertight seals on enclosures, as well as joining into o-rings to make custom-sized gaskets.
