Edge Trims with Lip Seal
Edge trims with lip seals consist of a rubber lip attached to either the top or side of a metal-reinforced edge trim. They are commonly referred to as edge trims with leaf seals and can be used to seal doors, hatches, lockers and other enclosures to reduce the ingress of water, air or other foreign objects. Unlike round sealing bulbs, the lip on the top or side of the section deflects rather than compresses and can be bent backward, forward, up or down.
The edge trim contains a metal spine that strengthens the section and allows the seal to hold itself onto the panel edge without the need for adhesive, screws or other mechanical fixings. This also protects the panel edge from unintentional damage. Edge trims with lip seals are available in a range of sizes depending on the thickness of the panel that it needs to be clipped onto. They can be fitted onto most materials such as glass, metal and wood.
