Seals Direct specialise in the supply and manufacture of standard and bespoke sections for use by original equipment manufacturers in the production of their components and products. Our rubber sections are used by customers who manufacture products within a large spectrum of sectors such as automotive, construction, defence, electrical, food, medical, retail and transportation. We regularly supply a large spectrum of seals including edge trims for safety edge protection, glazing gaskets to be used in windows and rubber extrusions for sealing applications.
We pride ourselves with working with our customers in finding solutions that meet any specific safety, material and usage requirements. Our technical team is able to work alongside you in the development, testing and production of rubber seals and sections required for your products and equipment. Our standard sections, available in both small and large quantities, are available for next working day delivery from our UK based distribution centre.
Seals & Trims Used By OEMs
Edge Trims
Edge
trims are used to protect edging on panels, doors and glass. They are available
in a large range of sizes designed to fit different panel thicknesses.
Top and Side Seals
Our edge trims are also available with a sponge
sealing bulb. This bulb is either on the top or side and, when compressed,
creates a watertight seal.
U Channels
These
profiles are available with either a rounded or square bottom. We stock one of
the largest ranges of U channels in a range of widths, heights and wall
thicknesses.
Rubber Extrusions
Rubber
extrusions are manufactured using solid rubber compounds and come in a large
variety of shapes and sizes. They are used for sealing or decorative
applications.
Sponge Profiles
Our
sponge rubbers are manufactured using a closed-cell soft sponge-like material
which does not absorb water. They are available in a range of shapes and sizes.
Sponge Strip and Sheet
This
product can be supplied in large sheets or narrow strips. They are manufactured
from a closed-cell so do not absorb water.
Adhesives and Sealants
Adhesives
and sealants are required to bond the rubber section to a surface. We stock one
of the largest ranges of sealants, designed for different materials and environmental
factors.
Custom Extrusions and Gaskets
Whilst
our standard sections will be suitable for most projects, we have the capabilities
to manufacture bespoke seals, trims and gaskets to meet your application.
Materials
All of our products are extruded and manufactured from high quality rubber compounds to ensure they provide a long term and hard wearing sealing solution. We have the capabilities to manufacturer seals, trims and gaskets in EPDM, Neoprene, Natural Rubber, Nitrile, PVC, Silicone and Viton but are able to assist with other material specifications. We have the facilities to manufactures profiles in most of these materials in either sponge or solid in a range of harnesses and densities. The majority of our compounds are available in general purpose commercial grades or materials manufactured to British Standards.
Our extensive range of materials allows you to choose what will be most suitable to your application. This allows you to select a material which allows for any external factors such as weathering, fuels or chemicals. For example, we recommend using Nitrile if the product will come into contact with oil and Silicone for environments which handle food or may be subject to high temperatures.
Bespoke Seals & Trims
Whilst our extensive range of stocked seals and trims will be suitable for most applications, we also offer a bespoke design and manufacturing service if your sealing requirements cannot be met by a standard product. We have extensively invested in our design and manufacturing capabilities which allows us to work directly with Design Engineers to identify the best sealing solution for your project. In instances where there is an existing profile, we are able to reverse engineer the section and extrude an exact replica in a variety of materials, colours and hardnesses. We can also manufacture bespoke sections from technical drawings in situations where an existing profile does not exist. Minimum production runs are as low as 30 metres depending on the required material and construction.
Seals Direct are also a leading supplier of bespoke mouldings and gaskets. Depending on the seal and application our rubber mouldings are manufactured using either compression or injection moulding in a variety of materials and hardnesses. We are able to stamp bespoke gaskets from both sponge and solid materials from one off to large production runs.
