Food Seals & Trims
Seals Direct have extensive knowledge of the type of seal required for use within the food and dairy industry when coming into contact with food or equipment around food. All of our seals can be manufactured using FDA approved food grade materials that meet health and safety requirements. We commonly use blue silicone as blue is easily identified in the food chain and silicone is the material of choice for high temperatures. We also have the capability to manufacture seals using metal detectable grades which help with the identification of failed seals and gaskets should they enter the food supply.
We instruct an external agency to frequently inspect our warehouses to ensure that we are providing a safe environment to keep food grade materials. All stocked and bespoke items are dispatched from our UK based warehouse on next working day couriers.

Edge Trims
We
stock a range of clip of edge trims manufactured in FDA approved food quality silicone.
These are available with and with sponge bulbs depending on whether you required
edge protection or a sealing solution.
Expanded Silicone
A number
of our sponge seals are available in food quality silicone. These can be used
as seals on doors and inspection hatches to create water and dust tight seals.
Rubber Extrusions
Our
rubber extrusions are available in an extensive range of shapes and sizes to
suit the required application. These can be manufactured to order in FDA
approved food quality materials.

Materials
All of our products are manufactured using high quality raw material compounds to ensure they provide a long lasting sealing solution. The majority of our seals for use in the food industry are manufactured using FDA approved food quality silicone as this is an ideal material for instances where the seal is subject to high temperatures in food processing machines. We can extrude silicone in a range of colours but commonly use a blue figment to aid with the identification of contamination if they seal was to degrade or break.
Bespoke Seals & Trims For Food Applications
We offer a bespoke design and manufacturing service if your sealing requirements cannot be met by one of our standard products. Our 3D CAD facilities allow us to work directly with Design Engineers to identify the best sealing solution for your project. We are able to reverse engineer your existing seal and extrude an exact replica in a variety of materials, colours and hardnesses. Minimum production runs are as low as 30 metres depending on the required material and construction.
Seals Direct are also a leading supplier of bespoke mouldings and gaskets. Depending on the seal and application our rubber mouldings are manufactured using either compression or injection moulding in a variety of materials and hardnesses. We are able to stamp bespoke gaskets from both sponge and solid materials from one off to large production runs.
