Rubber Mats |
Our high quality rubber mats are manufactured from a new pure rubber blend, specially designed for the equine industry. They feature a non-slip cobblestone top surface, and grooved underside for drainage.
Mat size—6 ft (1.828 metres) x 4 ft (1.22 metres) x 17mm
Benefits
· Mucking out and bedding costs can be reduced by 70-80%.
· The payback for the mats is generally accepted at being less than 12 months.
· Capped hocks and elbows are reduced significantly as there is no contact with the concrete floor.
· The reduction or removal of bedding and associated dust and spores will aid respiratory problems.
· Reduces the tendency for the horse to slip or become cast
Key points to look out for when choosing rubber for your stable.
· Hygiene, mats should be of a solid construction, this means that the mats themselves cannot act as a breeding ground for bacteria.
· Safety. Look for a mat with a good non-slip surface and preferably made up from material that can be guaranteed to be safe. (Some mats have used large quantities of tyre regrind, which may contain impurities). The surface of our mats has been developed over 15 years to deliver excellent non-slip properties as well as allowing easy cleaning.
· Heavyweight and hard wearing. A horse will apply an incredibly high force on the flooring. To stop the mat moving under the horse, the weight per square metre needs to be high. A higher weight will also give improved wear resistance. Our mats weigh approx. 45Kg. (A good indicator is to bend the mat in half and jump on the folded edge to see if the mat withstands this punishment). Try bending our competitors and see how long they last. |

To calculate how many mats you require for an odd size stable, use the following formulae:
Stable Width in feet X Stable Length in feet / 24 = Number of mats
Stable Width in metres X Stable Length in metres / 2.23 = Number of mats
